Section titled “Horizons Hardware Guidelines”Am I allowed to double dip with hardware programs?
No, you are not allowed to double dip with hardware programs like Blueprint, Stasis, or Fallout.
What am I allowed to make?
Section titled “What am I allowed to make?”You can make any original hardware project! If you’re following a tutorial, the project you create must be substantially different and add a significant amount to the tutorial you based it on.
Will you provide funding for me to build my project?
Section titled “Will you provide funding for me to build my project?”You’ll be able to purchase hardware grants in our shop, but you can’t use hours to both purchase hardware grants and attend the event. You also may not double dip with other hardware programs like Blueprint, Stasis, or Fallout.
How should I track my time?
Section titled “How should I track my time?”You have to do ALL of the following:
- Create a JOURNAL.md file in your repo and use the template linked here to log progress.
- Track time spent writing code in Hackatime.
- Use Lapse to record time spent on 3D modeling, PCB design, and assembly. Time recorded with any software other than Hackatime for text-based tools (e.g. Visual Studio Code) or Lapse will not be accepted. This includes Hackatime extensions for CAD software.
What is required to ship?
Section titled “What is required to ship?”One of the following is required to ship your project:
- A functioning prototype;
- A fully built project, or;
- A high quality and polished design and plan. This should include well made code, CAD files, PCB schematics and design files, wiring diagrams, and a bill of materials.

In your journal.mdfolder, put the following at the top:

- detailed descriptions of what got done
- screenshots of schematics, models, ect.
- what software you used
- lapse links if applicable
DON’T have:
- AI Generated content
- No images
- poorly formatted content
